We are frail beings and are so susceptible to the winds of keeping up that blow through our neighborhoods.
We catch a case of the I deserve this, and call our friends to go out for some serious retail therapy.
We catch a case of the What will everyone think if our kids aren’t in the best clothes and we make sure they have the coolest duds.
We catch a case of the I am not beautiful unless I have my nails and hair done and are fashionable, and so we spend time and money pursuing those.
We catch a case of everyone goes to Disney for vacation, and we schedule those trips, because, well, we must.
What we catch is a serious case of pride and envy, with a gigantic side dish of guilt and a mountainous dessert of debt.
We deserve better than that.
We must start saying no to the things that don’t matter so we can say yes to those that do.
Hebrews 13:5
Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”
Every Friday I join Lisa-Jo over at The Gypsy Mama for her Five Minute Friday prompts. It’s an opportunity for each of us to stop, drop, and write.
We write bold and beautiful and free. Unscripted and unedited. We just write without worrying if it’s just right or not.
Won’t you join us?

You make me blush, and I’m so glad you find encouragement here.
Unfortunately, this is just the plain truth, for me, my family, my friends, my acquaintances. We all suffer from some form or degree of “itis” whether it’s gotta have it, do it, look it or whatever.
