John 15: 5-8
New International Version
5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. 7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8 This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.

I love this scripture. Especially, “If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you” and I needed that reminder. Thanks, Kim!
Fawn, glad these verses spoke to you. They were the theme verses at the Group Workcamp my husband and I volunteered at this summer. Great and powerful work and words!
Love the idea of quoting scripture that speaks to you. And on Sunday. How appropriate. Think I’ll start doing the same over at my site. Is that alright?
The verse you chose is such a great reminder to us to truly rely on him – for everything. For without Him, we are nothing, but with Him, we have no limits.
Absolutely, Colleen. You need to write what speaks to you. This is the first time I did this, and I will do it again as it speaks to me.
Glad you enjoyed the scripture.
Kim,
John 15:5 is one of my favorite scriptures. In fact, I have it framed and hanging in my kitchen. When we stay connected to our friends via e-mail, phone, text, etc. our friendships will stay alive, but when we disconnect the friendships will die. It’s the same with our relationship with Christ — however the death produced here is much worse than losing a friendship.
Have a Victorious Day!

Well said, Marianne! The verse really came home to me this summer during the week long workcamp. Every night there was a program for the hundreds of teen and adult volunteers, and it would center around part of the verse. Great stuff!
